Dear Colleagues,

First of all, we are glad to announce that the JMISST has been expanded and restructured as a co-official journal of KOMISS and MISSAB(Indian MISS). Journal of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery & Technique(JMISST) is the academic journal of the Korean Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Society(KOMISS) publishing researches on minimally invasive spinal surgery(MISS), including studies in spinal endoscopic surgery, minimally invasive procedure for degenerative spine diseases, pain intervention, and minimally invasive surgery for spinal fusion or spine trauma, neuroscience, neurology, molecular biology and biomechanics etc. Articles with helpful information for MISS, such as reports on rare cases or technical review of special devices or equipment are also available. JMISST has been published as an official journal since 2016 and is published twice a year.

The KOMISS has been founded as the first divisional society of the Korean Spinal th Neurosurgery Society in 2002 and is preparing for the 20th annual academic meeting next year (#1). The objectives and purposes of the KOMISS are to pursue academic improvements and exchange on clinical and fundamental research in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery and to promote good fellowship among its members. The academic conferences and cadaveric workshops have been performed twice each year.

In this issue of JMISST, “Uniportal and Biportal Endoscopic Spine Surgery: A New Paradigm in Spine Surgery” has been added as a special issue. In the future, we are looking forward to expanding the official journal to represent the Asian society of MISS. Finally, I express my deepest appreciation to professor Jong-Tae Kim, the editor of JMISST, and the editorial board for the effort for developing the co-official journal of KOMISS and MISSAB.
