JMISST Special Issue
Sub-title: A minimally invasive approach to the cervical, thoracic spine

Dear Colleagues:

Minimally invasive spine surgery, including endoscopic spinal surgery, has spread from the lumbar area to the cervico-thoracic spine.

However, since it is closely related to the spinal cord of the cervico-thoracic spine, a safer surgical approach is needed, and an academic basis for this is needed.

This special issue will share the experiences of world-leading minimal invasive spine surgeons through original research articles, formal systematic literature reviews, technique videos, and case presentations. It is hoped that this special issue will not only help to summarize the recent technical advancement of Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery but also highlight remaining challenges in search of solutions.

In this JMISST special issue, we will discuss the minimally invasive approach for the cervico-thoracic spine, and through this, we will prepare a basis for a safer minimally invasive approach.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Endoscopic cervical and thoracic discectomy
  • Endoscopic cervical and thoracic decompression
  • Uniportal and biportal endoscopic spinal surgery to the Cervical, Thoracic Spine
  • Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery to the Cervical, Thoracic Spine
  • Endoscopic assisted spinal surgery to the Cervical, Thoracic Spine
